How to Prepare Your Home for Showing and Tours

Quick Tips in Presenting Your Home

1. If possible, take your family out of the home during all showings and open houses.

In many cases, the seller's presence intimidates prospective buyers.  If buyers do not feel comfortable about viewing your home, they may be less likely to make you an offer!
2. Keep room draperies and shades open to let in light and make the rooms appear larger.
3. Avoid having dirty dishes in the sink or on the counter.
4. Keep toys in an organized fashion.
5. Bikes, wagons, skateboards should be out of the way.
6. Keep loud radio, stereo, and TV turned down or off.

7. Keep your pets outdoors when your home is being shown.

8. When an evening showing occurs, make sure all interior lights are on as well as the porch light and outdoor lighting.
